About the Role
The Medical Assistant role involves providing patient care through direct and telephone contact, coordinating with the care team for seamless delivery, and assisting physicians with clinical procedures. You will have the support of a global organization to help patients live healthier lives and contribute new practice ideas.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and assisting MDs with procedures.
- Performs clinical duties within scope of practice, adhering to established standards, policies, and protocols.
- Takes a proactive approach to patient care, addressing individual and family needs and communicating them promptly.
- Directs and escorts patients to exam rooms in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates clinical competence when assisting physicians or other healthcare professionals during exams and procedures.
- Performs authorized procedures such as vital signs, vision screening, and selected laboratory tests as directed.
- Seeks validation or guidance from physicians, mid-level healthcare professionals, or nurses when necessary.
- Prepares e-prescriptions for pharmacies as instructed by a physician.
- Inspects, cleans, prepares, and processes instruments and equipment according to guidelines.
- Processes specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring proper labeling and order placement.
Requirements
- 1+ years of clinical experience as a MA or in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting (EMT, PCT).
- Current Phlebotomy experience (draws within the last year).
- Candidates are required to pass a drug test before beginning employment.
