About the Role
AMC Global Media is seeking a Director, Product Management & Data Transformation to join their Streaming Product & Operations team. This role will define and execute a multi-year Data Product and Analytics strategy, leading the transformation towards a governed, scalable, and trusted data ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute a multi-year Data Product and Analytics strategy aligned with AMC Global Media’s streaming business objectives.
- Lead the transformation from fragmented reporting and instrumentation practices toward a governed, scalable, and trusted data ecosystem.
- Establish product vision, roadmap, and prioritization for data products, analytics capabilities, KPI frameworks, and measurement infrastructure.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to embed data strategy into the broader Streaming Product roadmap.
- Champion a culture of accountability, measurement, and data-driven decision making across the organization.
- Own the product strategy for AMC's KPI framework and measurement ecosystem.
- Establish governance processes for metric definitions, ownership models, and reporting standards.
- Partner with stakeholders to define North Star metrics, product KPIs, and business performance indicators across AMC+, Shudder, Acorn TV, HIDIVE, and future products.
- Ensure consistent metric definitions and reporting across platforms, brands, and teams.
- Drive adoption of KPI ownership throughout the Product organization, leaning into product insights.
- Partner with Data Engineering to establish a contract-first approach to instrumentation, event taxonomy, and data quality.
- Lead development of governance processes supporting semantic definitions, instrumentation standards, and data stewardship.
- Establish frameworks for data validation, monitoring, audit processes, and issue remediation.
- Co-lead cross-functional governance forums that drive accountability for data quality and reporting consistency.
- Advocate for data quality as a product feature rather than an operational afterthought.
- Partner with Engineering teams to define instrumentation requirements, event taxonomies, and platform measurement standards.
- Own the business roadmap for analytics platforms and supporting tooling.
- Ensure instrumentation supports reliable measurement of customer engagement, retention, monetization, content consumption, and operational performance.
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders to evaluate and prioritize investments in analytics infrastructure, semantic layers, governance tooling, and analytics platforms.
- Help product managers, designers, engineers, and executives effectively leverage data to inform decisions.
- Build training, documentation, and operating mechanisms that increase data fluency across teams.
- Establish repeatable KPI reviews, business performance discussions, and product health assessments.
- Promote self-service analytics and democratized access to trusted business metrics.
- Serve as an internal thought leader on measurement strategy and product analytics best practices.
- Act as the primary business owner for Data Product initiatives across Streaming Product.
- Present roadmap progress, data maturity goals, KPI health, and transformation outcomes to executive leadership.
- Build alignment across Product, Data Engineering, Engineering, Marketing, CRM, and external partners.
- Manage and mentor product managers and analysts supporting data initiatives.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Analytics, Data Product Management, or related disciplines.
- 3+ years leading product, analytics, or data-focused teams.
- Experience building and scaling data products, analytics platforms, measurement frameworks, or data governance programs.
- Deep understanding of KPI design, product analytics, instrumentation strategies, metric governance, and experimentation frameworks.
- Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into business outcomes.
- Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Data, and executive stakeholders.
- Expertise establishing product operating rhythms, KPIs, and performance measurement systems.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership skills.
- Experience with modern analytics ecosystems including Mixpanel, Amplitude, mParticle, dbt, semantic layers, event-based analytics, and customer data platforms.
- Entertainment industry experience a plus.
- Experience implementing data governance, instrumentation standards, or analytics transformation programs.
- Familiarity with streaming, subscription, media, or digital platform businesses.
- Knowledge of data quality, observability, taxonomy management, and event-driven architecture.
- Experience building data literacy programs and driving organizational adoption of data-driven practices.
- Understanding of AI, predictive analytics, and modern decision-support systems.
- MBA, Master’s degree, or advanced coursework in Data Science, Analytics, Product Management, Business, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
