About the Role
Bain Capital Special Situations is seeking Associates to join their North America team in Boston and New York. This role involves sourcing investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, preparing investment recommendations, and monitoring investments.
Responsibilities
- Perform fundamental company-specific due diligence, including visiting company management, conducting proprietary research, and analyzing financial statements.
- Conduct industry-level analyses, including market data research, speaking with industry experts, and attending industry conferences.
- Build company models, perform valuation analysis, and analyze returns sensitivities.
- Make proactive buy/sell recommendations and communicate views effectively with team members.
- Adopt the firm’s investment process, characterized by direct verbal communication and concise written investment summaries supported by data-driven analysis.
Requirements
- BS/BA from a highly-regarded institution with a demonstrated track record of successful work experience.
- 2 years of experience with an investment management firm, management consulting, investment banking, or venture capital/private equity firm.
- Experience analyzing and/or evaluating companies.
- A fundamental, analytically driven approach to investing with strong analytical/modeling capability.
- Ability to work collaboratively in team environments and strong relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to synthesize complicated analyses concisely and articulate insightful conclusions compellingly.
- Open to spirited debate over ideas.
- Must not require visa sponsorship, either now or in the future.
