About the Role
Performs analytical, operational, and administrative tasks to support purchasing and acquisition of goods, assets, processes, patents, copyrights, or other services. Monitors inventory levels to ensure adequate stock in stores or warehouses. Conducts research for buyers on market trends and vendor cost-benefit analysis.
Responsibilities
- Sits in on vendor meetings, takes notes, and provides supplemental comments during negotiations.
- Verifies purchase request specifications, prepares purchase orders, places orders with vendors, and completes associated paperwork.
- Acquires orders, inspects goods and materials, and arranges for the return of damaged items to vendors.
- Maintains purchasing and payment records, keeps receipts, and provides spending figures to the Finance Department.
- Monitors market trends and advises management on pricing strategies.
