About the Role
STV is seeking a Construction Manager - Aviation to join our PM/CM team to work with one of our aviation clients in Austin, TX.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison and airport/owner representative responsible for directing and managing the project.
- Manage project scope development and execution to meet project goals and objectives.
- Develop RFPs and oversee the procurement process for designers and contractors.
- Provide direction and management for assigned projects, ensuring on-schedule completion within or below budget.
- Plan and define program goals, develop in-depth knowledge of owner objectives, contract terms, and airport policies.
- Plan, direct, supervise, and control all technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of the assigned project.
- Collaborate with team members and airport management to develop budgets, schedules, and plans.
- Oversee owner's staff managing full project delivery, including stakeholder interfaces.
- Identify and study options for complex design, operational, or constructability issues.
- Conduct field surveys and investigations to capture accurate field conditions for strategic design and construction decisions.
- Maintain documentation of the approved scope of work, including agreements, reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Oversee the Design Manager in managing the design process, including technical issues, non-compliances, RFIs, shop drawing reviews, testing, and commissioning.
- Oversee the Design Manager in managing the Design Review Team (DRT) process through all design phases.
- Monitor and lead efforts related to the permitting process.
- Oversee the construction process to mitigate obstacles and inefficiencies.
- Become thoroughly familiar with contractual obligations and technical aspects of all facilities.
- Ensure all work is performed and inspected according to the latest versions of plans and specifications, including approved changes, submittals, and RFIs.
Requirements
- 10 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects.
- Experience with projects exceeding $50 million in value.
- Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR, and Design/Build.
- Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
