About the Role
St. Joseph Hospital, a member of Catholic Health, is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team. This community hospital is focused on excellent patient experience and nursing excellence, offering opportunities for career advancement and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Receive and direct patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
- Receive requests from patients and families and refer them to the appropriate personnel.
- Provide information regarding patient location.
- Record and deliver messages for patients and staff.
- Receive and distribute mail and other items for patients and staff.
- Order and maintain appropriate quantities of forms, materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Enter requests for work orders and computer issues into the computer system.
- Enter and update patient data in the computer system accurately and timely.
- Perform 1:1s and enhanced supervisions.
- Answer call bells and phones, and conduct hand washing observations.
- Perform unit errands such as retrieving wheelchairs, picking up items from the blood bank, pharmacy, or stock room, and transporting discharged patients.
- Receive and communicate pertinent information to appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional working environment in the nursing station.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from American Heart Association required.
- Prior hospital experience as Unit Secretary or Ward Clerk strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task required.
