About the Role
Find an innovative, patient-focused culture dedicated to improving patient health and quality of life. This role supports clinicians by performing clinical duties during patient encounters, maintaining a safe environment, and ensuring efficient unit operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Room patients, collect vital signs, and prepare charts.
- Handle phone messages accurately.
- Assist with medication refills and abstract external records.
- Escalate emergent situations or patient problems to appropriate staff.
- Enter charges for supplies and clinical testing.
- Assist with routing forms such as disability or workers compensation paperwork.
- Distribute AVS per patient communication preference.
- Perform Point of Care testing and run controls.
- Update Point of Care testing equipment logbooks.
- Perform clinical testing per departmental protocol.
- Clean and stock exam rooms daily.
- Check medications and supplies for outdates.
- Monitor supply levels for inventory control.
- Meet yearly competency requirements.
- Float to other locations or departments as requested.
- Open and/or close clinic per departmental guidelines.
- Participate in environmental rounds.
- Attend required in-services.
- Identify areas for professional growth.
- Attend staff meetings and review missed meeting minutes.
- Maintain knowledge of Bassett policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Attend 4 CE's per year related to job role/function.
- Perform similar or related duties as requested or directed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience preferred.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Assistant preferred.
- BLS Certification within 6 months of hire required.
- Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping.
- Requires occasional fit testing.
- Frequent typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception).
- Occasional exposure to bodily fluids/bloodborne, burns, chemical, electrical, explosive, mechanical hazards.
- Occasional exposure to noise, vibration, wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, gases, mists, odors.
- Occasional travel may be required.
