About the Role
GPJ is hiring a CAD Administrator/Designer to support the Live Production team. This role requires expert Vectorworks Spotlight skills and a background in theatrical, set, or scenic design to create plans and elevations for live event projects.
Responsibilities
- Create plans and elevations for live event projects, including conference keynote stage designs, public festivals, ceremonies, and auto shows.
- Draw in 2D/3D (Front, Elevations, Sections and Isometric views).
- Create and edit Titleblocks.
- Use and create Records and Worksheets.
- Create 3D models.
- Use Classes and Layers.
- Import-export DWG’s.
- Use Rendering tools for Visualization.
- Create Texture.
- Establish efficient workflow protocols.
- Adapt to new processes.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to share and collect information.
- Deliver with excellence in all areas of responsibility.
- Work in concert with strategy, creative, other production teams, and client teams to communicate all stages of the production process.
- Ensure all projects have required certifications and documentation.
- Partner with strategy, creative, and account teams to bring ideas forward and put strategy into action.
Requirements
- Superior Vectorworks Spotlight skills.
- Background in theatrical design / set design / scenic design / floor plans and layouts.
- Expert level Vectorworks Spotlight skills.
- Comfortable with fast pace and tight deadlines.
- Ability to cope with stress and pressure.
- Ability to work at lightning speed to meet strict turn-around times.
- Ability to work on multiple curated projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- 5+ years of previous industry experience in CAD drafting.
- Ability to travel 10%.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
