About the Role
Nearwater's Risk Retention Financing Origination team is expanding, and we're looking for an Analyst to support deal execution across ABS, CLO, CMBS, and RMBS transactions. You will work closely with originators and associates on financial modeling, market analysis, and documentation for live deals, building the foundation for a career in structured finance.
Responsibilities
- Support the Origination team in executing financing transactions by reviewing deal offering documents and legal documentation, and coordinating operational settlement
- Build cash flow models of financing terms and structure for client review
- Prepare marketing materials and presentations for client meetings with global investment and PE firms, managers, and sponsors
- Research prospective clients and maintain an up-to-date pipeline database
- Monitor upcoming securitization market activity and relevant market trends
- Participate in client dialogue to support the origination and client coverage process
Requirements
- 0–2 years of experience, or a strong internship background, in structured finance or securitized products
- Strong Excel and financial modeling skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field
- Excellent attention to detail and written communication
- Exposure to ABS, CLO, CMBS, or RMBS asset classes
- Coursework or internship experience in structured finance
- Proficiency with financial databases such as Bloomberg or Intex
- Picks up new products quickly and asks good questions
- Comfortable being handed something loosely defined and figuring it out
- Good with numbers under a deadline
- Speaks up early when something looks off
- Takes feedback well and applies it fast
