About the Role

Join Amazon Ads to innovate on a new product within a billion-dollar business, impacting millions of users with industry-leading technologies. This role supports the Sponsored Ads business, powering advertising experiences for millions daily.

Responsibilities

  • Build predictive issue-detection models to identify campaign under-delivery, over-delivery, and performance degradation before they impact advertisers.
  • Design the intervention-selection policy as a contextual bandit to determine autonomous actions.
  • Establish causal attribution for autonomous optimization to separate intervention effects from organic performance changes.
  • Integrate and adapt cross-model signals, combining creative-quality, product-relevance, and budget signals into a unified advertiser-intelligence picture.
  • Close recommendation and grading feedback loops by defining reward schemas and correlating creative-quality scores with campaign outcomes.
  • Work backwards from ambiguous business problems to set the science roadmap for the Model Layer.
  • Partner closely with software engineers to ensure model artifacts are deployed and served in production.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
  • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning

Skills

  • Modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy
  • Large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark
  • Large scale machine learning systems such as profiling and debugging
  • Understanding of system performance and scalability
