About the Role

This role focuses on designing and delivering innovative learning experiences for front-line employees in Operations, utilizing an instructional design process and various modalities.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the success of the Learning & Development / Operations team globally, executing goals and initiatives to support business strategies.
- Ensure all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
- Design and deliver learning solutions to build and sustain knowledge and skills for front-line Operations employees.
- Apply instructional design processes (assessment, design, development, evaluation, sustainment) to create innovative learning experiences.
- Develop learning solutions using modalities such as eLearning, instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, simulations, and performance support resources.
- Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships.
- Utilize ADDIE or other instructional design models to build blended learning solutions.
- Conduct needs analysis, identify learner performance gaps, and recommend solutions or changes to existing training programs.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to understand learning needs and define success measures.
- Develop and maintain training materials, including facilitator guides, participant guides, eLearning modules, assessments, videos, job aids, and reference materials.
- Translate SME knowledge into engaging learning solutions for Service, Sales & Operations, covering new hires, upskilling, and product/system launches.
- Create learning solutions in various formats like micro-learning, gamified learning, infographics, videos, and animations.
- Ensure all learning deliverables meet bank technology standards and accessibility requirements.
- Coordinate and execute training plan logistics, including scheduling, printing, and translation.
- Plan, schedule, and support train-the-trainer sessions and training deliveries.
- Support the administration of learning offerings on the enterprise learning management system (LMS).
- Ensure a sustainment/maintenance strategy is planned and implemented.
- Collaborate with Operations teams to gather feedback and recommend continuous improvement for learning and performance.
- Develop assessment methods to measure learner comprehension and knowledge application.
- Analyze data to identify opportunities for improving learning solutions and learner experiences.
- Conduct ongoing maintenance reviews of existing learning programs with SMEs and stakeholders.
- Track and report on training activities to ensure effectiveness.
- Consider the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in daily activities and decisions.
- Pursue efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
- Ensure adequacy, adherence, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls for operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk.
- Champion a high-performance environment and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
- College or University degree, preferably in Adult Education, Training, Human Resources or equivalent with 2 – 4 years work experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in instructional design.
- 2+ years of experience with eLearning authoring tools and video creation software (Articulate 360, RISE, Vyond, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Ability to act independently within defined objectives and direction.
- Strong understanding of learning design and current technology industry practices.
- Effective consultation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects from intake to close.
- Strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of tasks and functions and changing priorities.
- Excellent analytical, planning, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work energetically and creatively in a dynamic team environment.
- Strong graphic design and video editing skills.
- Creative with a growth mindset.
- Stays on top of new development and delivery technology and trends.
- Highly proficient in developing presentations in PowerPoint.
- Experience with learning management systems.
