About the Role
ADS is seeking an experienced Senior IT Engineer to lead the development, resilience, and modernization of the Group’s IT infrastructure. This role involves supporting core on-premise infrastructure while migrating from Active Directory to Microsoft Entra, ensuring secure and reliable technology services with minimal disruption.
Responsibilities
- Support ADS’s core on-premise infrastructure.
- Lead the design and delivery of migration from on-premise Active Directory to Microsoft Entra.
- Ensure technology services remain secure, reliable, and responsive during the transition.
- Take ownership of agreed technical areas.
- Resolve escalated issues.
- Work closely with colleagues, stakeholders, and external suppliers.
- Support business-as-usual IT operations.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning.
- Help maintain technical controls for Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001.
- Ensure systems are supported effectively and knowledge is embedded across the IT team.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience designing and delivering an on-premise Active Directory to Microsoft Entra migration.
- Strong technical experience across Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and Intune.
- Solid understanding of Windows Server, VMware ESXi, network configuration, and Cisco switching.
- Experience with mobile device management, including Apple devices.
- Experience with email security technologies such as Mimecast, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
- Practical understanding of information security principles and frameworks, including Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001.
- Comfortable ensuring security and governance requirements are built into technical solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly to non-technical colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively with third-party suppliers.
