About the Role
Vintage is seeking a Publicist to manage media campaigns for a diverse range of fiction and nonfiction titles, including new releases and backlist catalog items. This role offers the opportunity to launch new books and reimagine the discovery of classic titles.
Responsibilities
- Execute media campaigns, securing national, regional, and niche media across radio, TV, print, online, newsletters, and podcasts.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with media contacts, event coordinators, festival organizers, and booksellers.
- Plan and execute author tours, including travel arrangements and detailed scheduling.
- Accompany authors to local NYC-based interviews and bookselling events.
- Communicate with and build partnerships with literary agents.
- Provide high-touch author care.
- Create persuasive press materials, including press releases, pitch letters, author Q&As, and story ideas.
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and sales teams on campaign execution.
- Identify new media opportunities and brainstorm creative promotional angles.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3-4 years of publicity experience in a publishing environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to independently manage campaign budgets.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
