About the Role
The Syracuse City School District is seeking dedicated and diverse educators to partner in moving the district toward its goals of ensuring all students graduate high school ready for college and career. This role involves coaching basketball teams at Henninger High School.
Responsibilities
- Coach Varsity/JV/Modified/Unified basketball teams (Head/Assistant)
- Develop student athletes' skills, discipline, and sportsmanship
- Foster an environment of maximum participation and enjoyment of play
- Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition
- Emphasize academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level
Requirements
- New York State Coaching Certification
- Valid First Aid course
- Valid Adult CPR certification
- Completion of Child Abuse Identification workshop
- Completion of School Violence Intervention and Prevention workshop
- Completion of Dignity For All Students Act (DASA) workshop
- Fingerprint Clearance
- School District Recommendation
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check ($102.50 cost to candidate)
