About the Role
This local grocery route offers a consistent schedule with two days off in a row each week, including Sundays. Drivers will be home every night and can expect a weekly minimum pay of $1,634. The position is based out of Chester, NY.
Responsibilities
- Deliver fresh and frozen groceries in 48 to 53 foot reefers to supermarkets and distribution centers.
- Complete approximately 2 loads a day or one longer run, with about 15 or more stops per week.
- Assist with unloading, though the store team primarily handles this (mostly no touch freight).
- Operate within the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, and Connecticut areas, with backhauls potentially reaching Pennsylvania.
- Deliver loads into NYC (20-25% of loads), after 6 months of experience and training with a certified NYC trainer.
- Assist on nearby accounts 2-3 days a week, potentially using a pallet jack (training provided).
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL and at least 21 years old.
- Verifiable tractor-trailer experience: 3 months in the last 6 with one carrier, 6 months in the last 12, or 12 months in the last 5 years.
- Must have reliable personal transportation to the account daily.
- Ability to work directly with store teams and be friendly with customers.
- No DUI/DWI in the last 5 years.
- No major preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- No careless or reckless driving in the last 3 years.
- Must pass hair and urine drug testing.

- NYC Load: $62.50
- Detention: $15 per hour
- Holidays: $280 per day for 6 paid holidays
- Training Days: $200 per day
