About the Role
Penn Power Systems is seeking an experienced Service Technician Manager to lead our team of power generation service technicians. This role is responsible for driving day-to-day service operations, coordinating workflow and scheduling, developing technicians, and ensuring safe, high-quality service for our customers. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of generators and power generation equipment along with proven leadership experience. You’ll serve as a technical resource for the team while improving service efficiency, technician performance, and the overall customer experience. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the service technician team, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
- Manage daily service operations, overseeing technician workload, scheduling, and field service activities.
- Coordinate and prioritize service work, balancing scheduled maintenance, repairs, and emergency needs.
- Provide technical leadership, serving as a resource for technicians diagnosing complex issues.
- Drive quality and productivity by monitoring service performance and identifying process improvement opportunities.
- Support technician development by identifying training needs and reinforcing technical standards.
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate service documentation, including work orders and service records.
- Manage tools and service resources to ensure technicians have necessary equipment.
- Deliver an excellent customer experience by communicating service status and resolving concerns.
Requirements
- Proven experience in generator maintenance, repair, power generation, or a related technical service environment.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, or developing technicians in a field service or service operations environment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems associated with generator equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
- Strong organizational and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple technicians, service priorities, and customer needs simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer-service mindset.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and established service procedures.
