About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and commercially astute team player with a passion for business and communications to join our Capital Markets division as an Account Director. This role offers significant learning and development opportunities, making it an excellent career step in Capital Markets communications. The ideal candidate is bright, energetic, resilient, and possesses the gravitas to support clients and the team effectively. You will handle diverse responsibilities, including client interaction, new business development, event planning, and marketing initiatives. Our Account Directors are ambitious, proactive, and deliver business impact by understanding client industries and staying current with media and communications trends. They ensure smooth account operations with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and meticulous planning.

Responsibilities

  • Running a broad range of tasks and supporting other Capital Markets team members
  • Compiling coverage reports and conducting research
  • Day-to-day client contact and managing relationships
  • Providing advice and guidance to clients
  • Ensuring efficient, high-quality day-to-day delivery of client programs
  • Driving and coordinating media and analyst relations activity
  • Drafting well-informed and audience-appropriate written materials with minimal senior input
  • Assisting in the development of new business proposals and pitch presentations
  • Planning and managing the organization of client events
  • Assisting in the nurturing of junior team members, including on-the-job coaching
  • Drafting press releases and handling RNS announcements
  • Building media and sell-side analyst relations skills
  • Social media engagement

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of communications experience with Capital Markets
  • Interest and enthusiasm for the City and Capital Markets communications
  • Passion for the media, current affairs, and business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with good attention to detail
  • Analytical, creative, and inquisitive nature
  • Strong time management skills, including adapting to changing priorities and multi-tasking to meet deadlines
  • Flexible attitude to working out-of-hours on occasion
  • Strong understanding of the media, with the communication and business skills needed to run accounts
  • Ability to handle RNS news announcements, including managing client sign-off
  • Good understanding of the role of social media and the broader digital landscape
  • Ability to recognize a crisis situation and escalate response appropriately
