About the Role
Waabi is seeking an Associate to join its FP&A team as an early member. This role will provide analytical rigor and strategic clarity to critical workstreams, offering a high-visibility opportunity to contribute to the growth of a frontier tech leader and help build long-term financial foundations.
Responsibilities
- Establish Foundational FP&A frameworks, including leadership reporting, budget vs. actuals analysis, and cross-functional financial discipline.
- Manage the full year budget and forecast, supporting budget preparation, development of annual operating budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
- Collaborate with leadership to monitor and adjust budgets, protecting cash flow.
- Produce accurate and timely financial reports and collaborate on board materials.
- Create dashboards to monitor daily/monthly financial performance against goals, identifying trends, variances, and risks.
- Establish processes and methodologies to track and report on KPIs.
- Identify, lead, and execute opportunities to improve, automate, and standardize financial systems and reporting processes.
- Build and maintain sophisticated financial models for strategic and commercial initiatives.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making, evaluating investment opportunities, pricing strategies, and cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of experience in Investment Banking/Private Equity and FP&A/Strategic Finance at a high-growth technology company.
- Advanced financial modeling skills with a focus on accuracy and scalability.
- Ability to translate complex data into reliable decision-making tools.
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, is highly organized, and capable of managing multiple workstreams with minimal oversight.
- Ability to distill vast amounts of data into clear, concise, and polished insights for executive audiences.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial management, analysis, tools, and reporting methodologies.
- Experience with selecting and/or implementing FP&A software tools.
- Natural inclination to build frameworks from scratch.
- Desire to make financial processes more efficient as the organization grows.
