About the Role
Prisma is seeking a Prepress Operator to join their team. This role is crucial for producing high-quality print materials and contributing to a collaborative work environment. You will represent Prisma with a positive attitude and have the opportunity to work with the number one printer in the Southwest.
Responsibilities
- Perform Prepress Mac file production for offset printed products including packaging, saddlestitch and perfectbind books, menus, diecut/foil/emboss items and all other general commercial work.
- Perform application file prep.
- Make plates.
- Trim and QC proofs.
- Use Adobe Suite products daily, especially InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Use Prepress software/imposition (i.e. Kodak Prinergy/Preps).
- Communicate effectively, responding to questions and providing support to others in Prepress, outside departments and clients in a professional manner.
- Make suggestions to improve processes and reduce mistakes.
- Observe that proper quality control procedures are being followed.
- Keep the department clean and organized.
- Develop and maintain business relationships with coworkers.
- Provide input on forming Prisma prepress best practices.
- Help build a stronger company every single day.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have a well-rounded knowledge of the entire print production process.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must maintain high quality standards.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must have strong work ethics.
- Must be well organized and a self-starter.
- Must be able to follow standard filing procedures.
- Must have a professional attitude and be reliable.
- Must operate with a sense of urgency without sacrificing accuracy.
- Must be able to manage high-volume work in a fast-paced company.
- Must be comfortable with change and able to adapt easily.
