About the Role

Otter Products is hiring a Director of Sales to lead the Sales team for Canada. This remote role, based in Ontario, will be responsible for strategic direction, sales, account management, and business development for various sales channels in Canada. The role involves developing strategic plans, resource allocation, and utilizing extensive knowledge of sales techniques and marketing strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets. The Director will also apply leadership skills to support the professional growth of their direct reports and the broader sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and provide resources to reach performance goals for all team members.
  • Implement talent development strategies and assessments, conduct check-ins, provide career path support, and manage performance.
  • Influence team to deliver a unified business plan and foster strong working relationships.
  • Partner with Product and Merchandising teams to provide feedback and guidance on new product opportunities.
  • Assume full P&L accountability for sales channel(s).
  • Oversee current and new revenue streams, projects, and products to drive sales growth.
  • Establish, strengthen, and manage high-level relationships within sales channels.
  • Collaborate with National Account Managers and other departments to streamline operations and manage inventory levels.
  • Participate in strategic operations and leadership team meetings to provide sales and marketing data.
  • Partner with senior leaders to offer recommendations and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual sales budgets, goals, and plans.
  • Analyze sales results and financial reports to make data-driven decisions and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with Demand Planning to ensure plans are updated and meet all timelines.
  • Collaborate with Channel Marketing to utilize Market Development Funds (MDF) budgets.
  • Manage the MDF budget.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team to establish channel expectations for brand marketing.
  • Coordinate business-critical activities with Merchandising and stakeholders for promotions and evaluate effectiveness.
  • Develop monthly channel updates to communicate organizational updates and channel wins.
  • Partner with product and merchandising teams to develop and implement comprehensive sales training programs.
  • Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in managing national sales account activity, including P&L ownership.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in a manager or higher-level role.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Canadian regulatory landscape, distinct regional markets (e.g., Ontario, Quebec, Western Canada), and major domestic retail or enterprise networks.
  • Up to 50% travel within Canada and to the US required.
