About the Role

This internship focuses on leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance connections with long-term investors through digital and social channels, making outreach more scalable and sustainable. The role involves social media research, audience insight, content experimentation, business analysis, and utilizing AI tools to support Mackenzie Investments' strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies for reaching long-term investors via emerging social and digital communities.
  • Research investor communities, behaviors, conversations, creators, and content formats to understand drivers of trust and engagement.
  • Support content experimentation, community participation, and audience engagement in partnership with Marketing.
  • Analyze engagement and audience signals to identify resonant topics, formats, and approaches.
  • Translate findings into recommendations for building a credible and differentiated presence in digital communities.
  • Build lightweight AI agents, workflows, and tools to scale social media research and engagement.
  • Develop reusable capabilities for social listening, trend detection, audience analysis, content ideation, competitive monitoring, and performance measurement.
  • Explore AI applications for identifying recurring investor questions and converting social signals into insights.
  • Document and design tools for maintenance and use by Mackenzie Investments post-internship.
  • Test new AI models and capabilities to improve quality or efficiency.
  • Research the needs and behaviors of digitally engaged investors focused on long-term wealth building.
  • Assess how investors discover, research, compare, and discuss investment products across various digital platforms.
  • Monitor competitors, financial creators, platforms, and emerging distribution models.
  • Synthesize findings into concise insights and implications for product, marketing, and distribution strategies.
  • Identify investment topics suitable for useful, credible social content in collaboration with Marketing and subject-matter experts.
  • Use AI to prototype content concepts, educational formats, and recurring series.
  • Design small experiments to test hypotheses about audience, message, format, and engagement.
  • Capture learnings and develop repeatable playbooks for future social media activities.
  • Contribute to AI Enablement and Innovation Lab projects outside the primary social media mandate.
  • Apply research, prototyping, and AI skills to emerging business questions through short-cycle experimentation.
  • Share reusable prompting, agent, and workflow patterns with the broader AI Enablement team.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in business, finance, economics, computer science, engineering, data science, or a related discipline.
  • Coursework or demonstrated interest spanning both business and technology.
  • Demonstrated experience using social media and generative AI tools through school, work, investing, content creation, community participation, or personal projects.
  • Previous internship, project, or extracurricular experience involving social media, digital marketing, investing, financial services, research, analytics, or emerging technology.
  • Strong interest in AI and digital communities, with the ability to learn unfamiliar tools quickly.
  • Comfortable experimenting with generative AI, agents, social platforms, and new digital capabilities.
  • Experience with social listening or analytics tools, Python, APIs, data analysis, automation, low-code/no-code tools, agent development, or visualization.
  • Strong research, analytical, and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to understand online communities, distinguish signal from noise, assess sources, and turn audience behavior into actionable insights.
  • Experience with audience research, social media analytics, market research, competitive analysis, investment research, or data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, sound judgment, attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Able to communicate naturally in digital environments while adapting to a regulated financial-services context.
  • Experience creating digital or social content, participating in investment communities, preparing presentations, or communicating findings to stakeholders.
  • Must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program (January to April 2027).
  • Must be returning to school after the internship.
