About the Role
Volunteers of America–Greater New York is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Driver. This role is crucial for operating agency vehicles, assisting in client services, transporting clients, and ensuring adherence to program activities.
Responsibilities
- Operate official agency vehicles.
- Assist in the promotion of client services.
- Transport clients to appointments and “hot spot” locations.
- Ensure clients adhere to rules and program activities.
- Drive vehicles in a safe and prudent manner, arriving at destinations via the most efficient route.
- Check vehicles daily to ensure acceptable operating condition.
- Maintain gas at one-half full and fill tank at end of day.
- Complete required paperwork including daily logs and route sheets.
- Assist in provision of direct care services and administrative support to program when not engaged in driving duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Two years’ experience as a driver.
- Familiarity with the assigned driving area.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Maintain a safe driving record that meets agency standards.
