About the Role
Amphenol Industrial Operations is seeking a skilled Second Shift CNC Machinist to support our growing manufacturing operation in Endicott, NY. The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC machining equipment to produce high-quality components that meet customer and engineering specifications. This role plays a key part in supporting production efficiency, quality initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers, lathes, and related equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and work instructions.
- Perform tool changes, fixture setup, offset adjustments, and program edits.
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment.
- Monitor machine performance and identify opportunities to improve cycle times, quality, and throughput.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
- Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections.
- Support new product introductions, process development, and production ramp-up activities.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Follow all safety requirements, operating procedures, and company policies.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist with training less experienced machinists and machine operators.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Experience editing CNC programs (G-code and M-code).
- Experience with tooling selection and fixture setup.
- Knowledge of Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar CNC control systems.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing or metal forming environments.
- Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.

- Ability to interpret production schedules, work instructions, drawings, specifications, and process documentation.
