About the Role

The General Manager at The Learning Experience is responsible for the operational performance of the Center. They apply business acumen to customer engagement and people leadership, creating an environment where others can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Drives productivity for all operational aspects of the center.
  • Effectively manages labor and approves all final work schedules to ensure appropriate ratios.
  • Manages center inventory, including office supplies, food, curriculum, and staff recognition items.
  • Manages all vendor relationships, organizing facilities maintenance and technology support.
  • Conducts team meetings in partnership with the Center Director to communicate important information and set a direction.
  • Nurtures leads through scheduling and conducting tours, and follows up with potential families to secure enrollment.
  • Leads tours, highlighting key features of the brand and center, and maintains strong connections with potential customers.
  • Maintains the lead tracking portal and customer database.
  • Coordinates the registration process and maintains customer and employee information in center systems.
  • Responsible for communications to families, such as newsletters.
  • Opens the center daily, ensuring it is safe, clean, and ready for children, families, and staff.
  • Serves as a main point of contact for parents, addressing concerns and answering questions with professionalism and care.
  • Documents incidents accurately and completes incident reports in a timely manner.
  • Provides tours to prospective families and shares information about TLE’s programs.
  • Delivers excellent customer service in person and over the phone.
  • Answers phones, responds to inquiries, and directs calls as needed.
  • Assists the Director and Executive Owner with daily projects and administrative tasks.
  • Plans and manages schedules for teachers, floaters, teacher assistants, and administrative staff, ensuring proper classroom coverage and staff-to-child ratios.
  • Supports and relieves administrative staff as needed, working alongside the Administrative Assistant.
  • Creates and maintains child and employee files, keeping all records organized and confidential.
  • Restocks supplies and manages the stock room inventory.
  • Monitors compliance with state childcare licensing regulations and center policies.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a daycare or childcare setting.
  • At least 1 year of office or administrative experience.
  • Fluent English speaker with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and people skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
  • Reliable, punctual, and looking for a long-term position.
  • MUST BE A CERTIFIED NYS TEACHER-FROM B-6 (INFANT-PRESCHOOL).

Education Level

  • Certified NYS Teacher-from B-6 (Infant-Preschool)
