About the Role

The Specialist, Campaigns will collaborate with senior management, volunteer leadership, marketing and communications, and conservation staff to lead the strategy and implementation of a multi-level stewardship and donor engagement program. This role fosters long-term relationships between WWF-Canada and its donors, supports fundraising activities, and manages a revenue line focused on donor-advised funds (DAFs). A key focus will be maintaining and optimizing a robust stewardship and recognition program as the organization enters the public phase of a major fundraising campaign.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise, engage, and communicate with donors and Donor-advised funds (DAFs) foundations and providers to solicit, renew, and upgrade relationships, with an annual revenue goal of $300,000+.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure DAF-related processes, procedures, and standard operating practices (SOPs) are effectively implemented, maintained, and continuously optimized.
  • Create stewardship reports, proposals, and briefing notes with other development, marketing, and conservation staff.
  • Coordinate and execute special donor events with WWF event and fundraising staff.
  • Work with the marketing and communications team on the coordination and production of all event materials, invitations, speaking notes, and public relations.
  • Coordinate and project manage select high net-worth donor stewardship activities and donor recognition across all major gift revenue streams.
  • Work closely with various resource development teams to coordinate, plan, and execute a strategic schedule of stewardship opportunities for each Relationship Manager’s donor list.
  • Compile and maintain an inventory of existing stewardship and recognition commitments and opportunities to ensure compliance with the donor recognition policy and gift agreements.

Requirements

  • A post-secondary education from a recognized post-secondary institution in a relevant field, including fundraising, special events planning and/or project management in a non-profit and 3+ years of relevant experience in the fundraising/advancement field or equivalent client-focused environment OR 6+ years of related experience in fundraising, special events planning and project management in a non-profit setting.
  • Exposure to a non-profit fundraising environment and/or a capital campaign is an asset.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong sense of diplomacy and demonstrated ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholder groups.
  • Understanding of current and emerging best practices in stewardship and donor engagement, or equivalent client relationship best practices, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies that strengthen long-term relationships with major donors.
  • Ability to work independently, rise to new challenges, find creative solutions, and to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment with multiple workflows and competing deadlines.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Asana, Mission CRM, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign), Canva, and other digital communications and marketing tools.
  • Experience with website management, email marketing platforms, analytics dashboards, and campaign reporting tools is an asset.
  • Superior writing skills, with a preference to experience writing philanthropic grants, proposals and stewardship reports.
  • Passion for nature and understanding of the science of environmental issues.
  • Familiarity with First Nations Principles of OCAP, BC First Nations Data Governance Initiative, or other similar data sovereignty guidelines an asset.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) designation considered an asset.

  • Occasional local and national travel may be required.
  • Ability to occasionally work outside of regular business hours as required to speak with donors and attend events.
