About the Role
The Learning Experience is seeking enthusiastic, nurturing, and dependable Assistant Teachers to create a fun, engaging, and supportive environment for children to learn, grow, and thrive. Assistant Teachers partner with Lead Teachers and center leadership to implement the proprietary L.E.A.P. Curriculum®, helping children build confidence, develop new skills, and foster a lifelong love of learning.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Lead Teachers to create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom.
- Support the implementation of TLE's L.E.A.P. Curriculum® through hands-on activities.
- Help support the unique developmental needs of infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children.
- Provide attentive, nurturing care while ensuring children's safety, comfort, and everyday needs are met.
- Assist with daily routines, including diapering, feeding, and dressing.
- Encourage children's social-emotional development, communication, and independence.
- Keep children actively engaged through play, exploration, and learning experiences.
- Support Lead Teachers in communicating with families about children's daily activities and progress.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Collaborate with center leadership and colleagues to support enrollment, retention, and family engagement.
- Follow all applicable New York State childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
- Active supervision of young children by sight and sound.
- Ability to participate in classroom and outdoor activities.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, and climbing.
- Safely lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
- Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must meet applicable New York State requirements for the role, including background screening, health, immunization, and required training requirements.
