About the Role
This is a key position managing the supply chain for Flow Safe, Inc., Flow Safe Supply, Inc. and Nibsco Supply/Automation. The role involves monitoring inventory levels, building and maintaining supplier relationships, evaluating and ranking suppliers, and expediting purchase orders to meet deliveries and customer demands.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate with suppliers on the PO level.
- Minimize excess and obsolete materials.
- Perform cost analysis and maintain records.
- Participate with quality department on surveys.
- Maintain purchasing database.
- Coordinate RMA disposition and return to vendor process.
- Evaluate supplier performance.
- Work with production team to manage inventory level, on time disposition of excess and obsolete inventory.
- Manage inventory turns.
- Contribute to the developing and maintaining a supplier database capable of providing quality, delivery, cost, lead times, minimal inventory levels and continuity of supply.
- Assure that suppliers have the capacity to meet current and future needs as well as ongoing upside capacity to satisfy unplanned demands.
- Assist existing and planned business volumes with current suppliers and rebalance business volumes as required.
- Position the materials procurement function to be one of the major contributors to the increasing net income.
- Expedite purchase order with suppliers to ensure that material arrives in a timely manner that allows production to meet delivery obligations.
- Advise Production Managers and Sales Managers of PO delivery schedules and problems.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of Purchasing and Inventory control within ERP systems.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
