In this Sr Web Software Engineer role, you will lead and develop the web frontend of GM Commercial Software. This role provides a unique opportunity where you will be working across all of the GM Commercial software products and truly steering the future of GM Commercial Software's web applications, products, and customers. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the product to implement responsive, visually appealing functionality using React.
- Ensure the usability and accessibility of web applications for a wide range of users.
- Build and launch new capabilities and products that bring significant value to customers internal and external.
- Uphold our high engineering standards.
- Elevate quality and engineering efficiency within our codebases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization including product, design, and other engineering functions.
- Mentor engineers earlier in their technical career to help them grow.
- Explore new technologies and enrich our technological stack.
- Actively participate in technical discussions and deep dives with architectural groups.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on web application development.
- Strong understanding and experience with React, Redux, and design systems.
- Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end testing to ensure the reliability and robustness of the applications.
- Write high quality production code that is tested thoroughly, supported by clear documentation and has appropriate production observability.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in an agile development environment.
- Experience working independently and drive features or components throughout the development lifecycle.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Knowledge of software design patterns, OO, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong product focus and acumen.
- Experience with IoT stack is a big plus.
- A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies.
