About the Role
Provide technical and design leadership on preliminary and detailed transportation engineering projects for MTO and local municipalities. Work in multidisciplinary project teams, maintain client relationships, and participate in business development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical design and delivery for transportation engineering projects and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Continuously develop technical expertise on transportation master plans, environmental assessments, preliminary design, detailed design, and construction phase services.
- Participate in the preparation of technical reports and studies for civil infrastructure designs, including EA documentation.
- Participate in the preparation of Contract documentation, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Manage and deliver stakeholder consultation programs and municipal council and agency presentations.
- Prepare estimates and project proposals.
- Contribute to the leadership and growth of the Transportation group.
- Contribute to the development of public and private sector client relationships and new business opportunities.
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning.
- Contribute to the career development of junior and intermediate staff through technical direction, training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
- Align with Dillon's core commitment to Health & Safety, including active engagement with processes and reporting hazards.
Requirements
- A degree in civil or transportation engineering.
- Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in Ontario, or eligible within six months.
- A minimum of 8 years' professional experience, preferably in the consulting industry.
- Proven experience in environmental assessment, preliminary and detailed design of municipal and provincial transportation facilities.
- Demonstrated abilities in the management and leadership of multidisciplinary projects and teams.
- Exceptional abilities in project management.
- In-depth understanding of business issues associated with consulting engineering and planning.
- Proven skills in public and agency consultation.
- Experience in the geometric design of highways, municipal roads and intersections.
- Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential.
