About the Role
The Technical Design Coordinator manages projects and assigned functions for the Technical Design organization. This role is responsible for maintaining the Technical Design Manual, Label function, Fit Model process, and provides full support for the Technical Design and Product Development teams. The position also manages the department's financial functions.
Responsibilities
- Manage fit model process, including booking fit models and managing fit schedules.
- Manage billing review and approval process, ensuring adherence to fee and charge procedures.
- Manage model agency relationships.
- Maintain the Technical Design Manual, collaborating with various business areas and managing revisions and communication.
- Manage inquiries pertaining to the Technical Design Manual content.
- Act as a business interface with IT for manual-related communication and data loading into the system database.
- Serve as project manager for pulling information, resolving issues, and obtaining data for the manual.
- Address questions from Li & Fung and external vendors regarding the guide.
- Act as project manager for clothing labels, supporting new initiatives and data collection.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Pre-Production, and Technical Design teams to execute label plans.
- Manage the label library and communicate label initiatives and changes.
- Serve as the business point person when working with Design on new initiatives.
- Partner with external label vendor, NexGen, on the web-based label ordering system, including placing orders and managing the process.
- Book travel arrangements (air, hotels, car services).
- Support all fittings and product life cycle events/meetings.
- Train and support users on IT systems, including SharePoint and Talbots shared drives.
- Manage new hire setup.
- Support the Technical Design and Product Development teams as needed.
- Manage the Department invoice process for Technical Design, including review, approval, and processing.
- Clean up POM’s (Point of Measure) and databases within WEBPDM.
Requirements
- Fashion associated degree and/or 2-3 years of experience in fashion.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong project management and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Poise under pressure.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Quality PC skills, including PLM, Excel, Word, Illustrator, Photoshop, and ability to learn quickly.
- Quantitative skills to manage budgets, fees, and charges.
