About the Role
This role will serve as a key relationship management contact for existing customers, focusing on renewals and greenfield sales across corporate, financial, and data/channel segments. The generalist role acts as the primary client point of contact, driving business development, retention, and revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships to ensure customer retention with high-profile, strategic CDP customers.
- Understand customer needs and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and products of interest for existing customers.
- Develop greenfield opportunities.
- Prepare and present compelling business proposals and presentations to existing customers.
- Develop customized solutions that align with client needs and CDP’s value proposition.
- Develop renewals plans, set targets, and monitor performance against objectives.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior team members on strategy development and execution.
- Negotiate licenses and contracts, understanding core use cases of CDP data.
- Stay informed about market trends, competitive landscape, and client feedback to inform business development strategies.
- Maintain a disciplined approach to pipeline management and forecasting.
- Ensure Dynamics 365 (D365) is kept up to date with accurate and timely input.
- Track and report on business development activities, including sales performance, pipeline status, and key metrics.
- Provide regular updates to senior management.
- Represent CDP at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.
- Promote CDP’s services and build relationships with potential customers.
- Build a strong customer picture across CDP of customer touchpoints.
- Ensure internal communication on customer is up-to-date.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve business development processes and strategies.
- Stay updated on best practices and industry developments.
- Ensure clear objectives are in place and participate in performance and development conversations.
- Ensure a respectful and inclusive workplace where team members communicate openly, share knowledge, and respect differences.
- Live the CDP Values and demonstrate appropriate behaviors.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in renewals and customer retention, sales, or a related field, preferably within the sustainability sector.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Ability to anticipate customer needs and identify opportunities.
- Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and partners.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience in selling ideally to financial or non-financial corporates.
- Understanding of customers' internal teams responsible for purchase decisions.
- Fluent in one or more local languages.
- Candidates will need to live within a commutable distance of the local office.
- Candidates must be comfortable with 2 days in the office per week.
