About the Role

Cleans and maintains the older adult center, monitoring repair needs to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness throughout the center by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing all areas daily.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for participants, visitors, and staff.
  • Polish, strip, and scrape floors as needed.
  • Set up classrooms, the auditorium, and activity spaces with necessary furniture and equipment for scheduled programs.
  • Break down, cut, and bundle cardboard boxes and other recyclable materials for proper disposal.
  • Collect and remove garbage and recycling from all designated areas daily.
  • Transport and set out garbage and recyclable materials for curbside pickup.
  • Clean, disinfect, and replenish restroom supplies at least three times daily.
  • Address wet or hazardous floor conditions promptly.
  • Conduct end-of-day facilities checks to verify lights, air conditioning, and security.
  • Report visible facility damage and maintenance concerns.
  • Monitor building and safety equipment and report replacement needs.
  • Complete the daily kitchen maintenance checklist.
  • Comply with organizational policies and complete mandatory annual training.
  • Support the organization's mission and values through professionalism and teamwork.
  • Maintain positive working relationships and adhere to organizational policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent education and experience.
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to perform physical activities associated with cleaning and maintenance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with attention to detail.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds.
  • Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, toxic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock risk.
  • Must be able to attend meetings and run errands using public or private transportation.
