About the Role
The Veterinary Eye Center is seeking an entry-level Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Long Island City. We are a modern veterinary practice focused on delivering world-class care and transforming the veterinary profession's culture. Our state-of-the-art facilities and collaborative environment provide the tools and support for success and growth.
Responsibilities
- Assist Doctor and Technicians in providing a seamless client and patient appointment experience
- Handling and restraint of patients for consultation exams and patient sample collection
- Handling and submission of patient samples to in-house and external laboratory
- Thorough cleaning, organization, and stocking of appointment exam rooms and appointment treatment area
Requirements
- 1+ years’ experience as a Veterinary Assistant
- Confidence with handling and restraint
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to clearly communicate with clients as well as team members
- The ability to adapt while maintaining a positive attitude
- Highly evolved organizational skills with an acute attention to detail
- The ability to work independently, responsibly, and ethically
- A resourceful nature and creative problem-solving skills
- An openness to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning
- A commitment to the welfare of animals
