About the Role
The Syracuse City School District is seeking dedicated and diverse educators to partner in moving the district toward its goals of ensuring all students graduate high school ready for college and career. This role involves coaching basketball teams at Corcoran High School, focusing on skill development, participation, discipline, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Coach basketball teams at Corcoran High School (Varsity/JV/Modified/Unified - Head/Assistant).
- Develop student athletes' skills, discipline, and understanding of competition.
- Foster teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic development at the high school level.
- Encourage maximum participation and enjoyment of play at the modified level.
- Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition.
Requirements
- New York State Coaching Certification.
- Valid First Aid course.
- Valid Adult CPR certification.
- Completion of Child Abuse Identification workshop.
- Completion of School Violence Intervention and Prevention workshop.
- Completion of Dignity For All Students Act (DASA) workshop.
- Fingerprint Clearance.
- School District Recommendation.
- Pass a fingerprint-based background check ($102.50 cost to candidate).
