About the Role
Glenmont Job Corps Center is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to manage daily financial operations, process invoices and payments, maintain financial records, assist with student pay, and handle cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to support student success.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and process student pay and allotments accurately and on time.
- Review invoices and payment requests, enter information into the accounting system, and ensure vendors and staff are paid correctly.
- Keep accounting records, reports, and supporting documents organized and up to date.
- Maintain petty cash and meal ticket funds and assist with approved student and staff transactions.
- Review and reconcile accounts, checking financial information for accuracy and identifying and correcting discrepancies.
- Perform calculations, postings, data entry, recordkeeping, and prepare recurring financial reports.
- Maintain financial documents and files for easy retrieval.
- Handle student, staff, vendor, and financial information with professionalism and discretion.
- Prioritize assignments and ensure payments, reports, and other financial responsibilities are completed accurately and on time.
- Partner with staff throughout the Center to answer questions, resolve financial concerns, and support Center operations.
- Treat students with respect and professionalism.
- Model positive workplace behaviors.
- Encourage accountability and responsibility.
- Communicate clearly and professionally.
- Help students understand processes related to their pay when appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to support student needs.
Requirements
- Proficient computer skills and Microsoft suite of applications required.
- Must pass company finance test.
