About the Role
Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks an Accountant with a generous heart to support their mission of offering dignified and compassionate care to vulnerable neighbors. This role is crucial in coordinating program financial operations and contributing to the well-being of the community.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate program month-end closings, including journal entries, financial statements, and account analysis.
- Integrate program financials into the Agency financial package.
- Supervise bookkeeping personnel, providing training, coaching, and performance appraisals.
- Review and approve program vouchers for payment.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Post cash receipts and disbursements, record obligation numbers, and maintain journals.
- Compile the annual Agency census for the Department of Labor.
- Coordinate the completion and input of CFR, CBR, CCRs, and CQRs into state-approved software.
- Coordinate the processing of semi-monthly travel expense vouchers.
- Track the capital budget and maintain fixed asset schedules.
- Prepare and submit various claims to funders for reimbursement.
Requirements
- Ability to perform effectively in a multi-priority, deadline environment.
- May be required to work flexible and/or extended hours to satisfy audit, budget, and finance deadlines.
