About the Role
The Associate Director leads ACE Learning Support & Success Initiatives, overseeing services and programs that advance student achievement and degree completion. This role involves strategic planning, supervision, and collaboration to enhance student persistence, retention, and graduation outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Advance strategic student success goals in collaboration with OUS leadership, ACE staff, and direct reports.
- Provide leadership and oversight through strategic planning, supervision, collaboration, assessment, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with campus partners to implement high-impact student success practices.
- Oversee tutoring, placement testing, academic coaching, academic recovery support, and success workshops.
- Strengthen referrals, academic interventions, retention practices, and coordinated student support with campus partners.
- Teach College Study Skills courses.
- Provide strategic oversight for success initiatives, including new student orientation and retention and persistence programming.
- Integrate coaching and transition practices that strengthen learning, academic confidence, and persistence.
- Establish unit goals, outcomes, assessment measures, and reporting priorities.
- Supervise, develop, and evaluate professional staff and student employees.
- Analyze data to assess outcomes, guide improvement, and inform student success programming.
- Develop periodic reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree in higher education, counseling, student affairs, education, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated leadership, supervision, training, assessment, and project management experience.
- Experience using data and student information systems to improve student success services.
Skills
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting Black students and historically underrepresented populations.
- Knowledge of teaching, learning, academic support, transition, retention, and persistence practices.
- Knowledge of student information systems, data management, assessment methods, and student success technologies.
- Excellent leadership, presentation, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of higher education policies, academic programs, and student support practices.
- Ability to solve problems, manage difficult situations, and maintain professionalism and service excellence.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercise professional judgment, and make sound decisions.
