About the Role
Alto is actively involved in transforming Canada's future through its high-speed rail project connecting Quebec City to Toronto. This innovative initiative, supported by the Canadian government, aims to enhance citizen quality of life, strengthen community ties, and stimulate economic growth. We are seeking a Communications and Correspondence Advisor to take on a challenging and impactful role.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the daily management of public inquiries received via email, phone, mail, and digital platforms.
- Analyze citizen questions, comments, concerns, and complaints to determine appropriate responses.
- Draft, revise, and send responses to the public, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with organizational policies and positions.
- Coordinate information gathering from internal experts and various teams to prepare comprehensive responses within deadlines.
- Adapt communications for different audiences, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and transparency.
- Follow up on complex or sensitive inquiries and ensure their resolution.
- Maintain tracking tools, databases, and statistics related to public inquiries.
- Develop and update response banks, key messages, Q&As, and customer service communication tools.
- Identify recurring issues, emerging trends, and reputational risks arising from public interactions.
- Formulate recommendations to improve communications, response processes, and public experience.
- Collaborate with communications and community relations teams to ensure message consistency.
- Participate in managing sensitive or high-public-interest situations requiring strategic communications.
- Provide advisory services to internal teams by assessing communication needs and recommending appropriate strategies (internal and external).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in communications or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, including at least 3 years in writing and producing various communication products and documents.
- Ability to simplify complex content and strong verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated writing and synthesis skills.
- High attention to detail and quality in communications.
- Organizational skills and ability to manage a high volume of requests.
- Proficiency in technological and office tools (especially the Microsoft Suite).
- Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.
- Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
