About the Role
Atelier Ten San Francisco is seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Designer specializing in Energy Analysis to collaborate on projects, achieve energy efficiency goals, and reduce carbon emissions. This role involves producing technical deliverables, performing energy modeling, developing HVAC strategies, and consulting on projects to decarbonize the built environment.
Responsibilities
- Independently and proactively plan and manage projects from start to finish
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and responsive service
- Coordinate with design and contractor teams to ensure seamless project delivery
- Lead client presentations, design charrettes, and internal team meetings
- Collaborate with Atelier Ten’s technical analysis teams to integrate sustainability strategies into projects
- Forecast project fees and resources, and manage budgets effectively
- Author and review project deliverables, including reports, memos, technical studies, and drawings
- Create compelling graphic illustrations to communicate technical concepts
- Work on a diverse range of projects within the built environment, including institutional, commercial, and residential buildings, as well as large-scale masterplans
- Partner with Atelier Ten’s integrated design groups to support services such as environmental design consulting, daylight and façade analysis, and benchmarking
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in a field related to environmental building design, architecture, architectural engineering, and/or building science
- 5-10 years’ professional experience in an architecture, engineering or sustainability consulting firm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word
- Strong ability in visual communication and sketching
- Effective time and budget management capability
- Strong technical and business writing skills
- Good verbal and inter-personal ability
