About the Role
Regeneron is seeking a Financial Analyst, R&D Finance, to partner with the Research and Preclinical (R&D) organization, primarily supporting the preclinical function. This role involves budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, variance analysis, financial modeling, and ad hoc financial duties, including cost center reporting, accrual calculations, program budgets, study forecasting, and external collaborations. The ideal candidate possesses strong financial acumen, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Support R&D business partners in creating department-level annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Utilize Hyperion for retrieving, analyzing, and uploading budget and forecast data.
- Analyze operational expense data to perform variance analysis and monitor spending against budget and forecast.
- Collaborate with Accounting and Preclinical Business Partners (internal and external) to prepare accruals.
- Maintain financial models as required.
- Prepare and present financial analysis for ad hoc requests and projects.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, models, and reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or an analytical field.
- 2-4 years of experience in an analytical role or related relevant experience.
- Previous experience in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong Excel skills preferred (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, INDEX, Pivot Tables).
- Solid understanding of financial accounting concepts.
- Ability to build, train, and leverage AI models and willingness to learn new iterations and business cases.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Previous experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
- Experience with Hyperion or related EPM tools is desirable.
