About the Role
The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is seeking a part-time Receiver to join its Purchasing Team. This role is responsible for receiving goods and services from suppliers and managing their storage, ensuring accuracy and adherence to inventory policies.
Responsibilities
- Receives all products entering the Club, examining contents and comparing them with records to verify accuracy.
- Labels and identifies products and items upon receipt before storing them in inventory.
- Utilizes the First In, First Out (FIFO) policy for dispersing products and goods to designated areas.
- Performs general physical activities to load, unload, sort, and move products manually or using material handling equipment.
- Completes required receiving documentation, including backup documents for purchase orders.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the receiving area and dry goods storage.
- Communicates with the supervisor regarding product quality and reports any damaged goods.
- Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and Club safety policies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in receiving and inventory management within the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 60lbs and lift heavy items to chest level.
Skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize efficiently within short timeframes.
- Office equipment and computer literacy in a professional setting is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other departments.
