About the Role

The Human Resource Generalist performs HR-related duties on a professional level, supporting IWG operations. This role assists in key HR areas including employee relations, talent acquisition, onboarding, safety, benefits administration, policy development, and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the talent acquisition process for nonexempt personnel, students/interns, and temporary employees, including writing and placing advertisements.
  • Oversee site-level employee onboarding procedures, educating new hires on HR policies, benefits, internal procedures, and regulations.
  • Administer stay and exit interviews to gather employee feedback.
  • Maintain headcount/staff reporting for all IWG EW employees.
  • Utilize HR software for payroll and employee benefits administration.
  • Ensure physical and digital employee files, including documents, benefits, and attendance records, are maintained in compliance with federal, state, and local employment benefit laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding human resources issues and generate required internal documents.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee recognition and retention programs, such as employee events and engagement surveys.
  • Prepare and present HR data and key metrics to support business decisions.
  • Assist with and participate in the safety program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Communicate daily with the HR Director to ensure objectives are met.
  • Support and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a positive and supportive attitude.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management.
  • 1-3 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Relationship management/client-driven approach.
  • Knowledge of HR principles and employment laws.
  • Ability to manage time-sensitive tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with an automated HRIS system.
  • Must be initiative-taking and self-directed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism.
  • Ability to navigate the manufacturing space.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds at times.
