About the Role
This role is for a Rail Requirements Management Specialist focused on requirements management activities for ongoing projects. It's an excellent opportunity for an engineering graduate to engage with stakeholders, gain hands-on experience, and participate in the overall engineering process for transit rail and subway projects.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior staff on transit rail and subway projects across Canada.
- Support the creation, organization, and updates of project requirements using tools like IBM DOORS NG.
- Coordinate end-to-end traceability for rail systems design, operations, maintenance, and interfaces.
- Support audits and compliance checks.
- Present technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines and project managers to complete requirements management tasks.
- Reference applicable standards such as ISO/IEC 15288, INCOSE, AREMA, Agency Design Standards, NFPA-130, and National Electric Code.
- Participate in projects throughout their lifecycles, from market engagement to closeout.
- Understand trends and best practices in the permanent way and rail engineering market.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Management Engineering, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronic, Information systems or similar).
- Demonstrated interest in Rail & Transit Infrastructure.
- Sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals related to transportation.
- Familiarity with requirements management software.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and balance assigned work.
- Exceptional organization skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels.
- Eligible to work in Canada without employer sponsorship.
