About the Role

Responsibilities

Lead and execute complex IT audits from beginning to end, as the engagement lead, using a risk, quality, and value-based approach.
Perform hands-on audit work in the most complex and high-risk areas, including risk assessment, control assessment, key process testing, and audit conclusion formulation.
Define audit scope and approach to focus on critical and emerging technology risks such as cybersecurity, cloud services, data and privacy, identity and access management, AI, and third-party technologies.
Guide, review, and challenge audit work performed by senior associates to ensure high-quality analysis, sufficient evidence, and sound judgment.
Develop clear, concise, and actionable audit conclusions that describe root causes, risk implications, and significant improvement opportunities for senior management.
Prepare and present audit reports, summaries, and presentations for executives, including senior management and the Audit Committee.
Act as an audit resource for director and VP-level stakeholders, communicating audit objectives, emerging issues, and findings with credibility and clarity.
Bring a forward-looking approach to audit work, considering emerging risks, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
Identify common themes and systemic issues across audits to inform broader IT risk discussions.
Drive continuous improvement of IT audit practices, including leveraging data analytics and advanced audit techniques.
Influence audit quality and capability through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and setting expectations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
Professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISA) are a significant asset.
At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in IT audit, IT risk management, cybersecurity, technology governance, or technology assurance.
Proven experience leading audits and managing stakeholders at various levels.
Excellent knowledge of modern IT environments, including cloud, identity, networks, endpoint security, data platforms, and agile deployment.
Working knowledge of frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls, COBIT, ISO 2700x) and compliance with IIA standards.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical risks as clear, actionable insights for decision-making.
Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Candidates must meet government security requirements.
