About the Role

Lead the team defining how governments harness the power of the Altana network to understand global supply chains, collaborate with allies, and shape trade policy and economic security decisions. Oversee public sector product areas and coordinate across the broader Altana organization to build the network. This role sits at the center of one of the most consequential technology problems in the world, defining how Altana becomes the operating infrastructure for trusted trade.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision for Altana’s three public sector product areas: Customs and Border Management For Goods, Defense resilience and acquisition, and Economic Security and Policy.
  • Redefine what governments can see by modernizing Customs and Border Management For Goods, building agent-native intelligence layers, and automating validation tools.
  • Power Economic Security and Policy by defining new product capabilities for analysis, policy modeling, and coordination with allied governments.
  • Build the 'Policy Workbench' for trade analysts, national security staff, and policymakers.
  • Manage a fused data environment combining Altana’s supply chain graph with confidential customer data.
  • Evolve supply chain in defense procurement from one-time design to continuous compliance.
  • Create a marketplace for compliant components to foster innovation in defense manufacturing.
  • Build tooling for defense contractors to manage their supply chains with deep tier visibility.
  • Set the product strategy and roadmap for public sector product areas.
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, data science, and government affairs to translate mandates into product capabilities.
  • Act as the connective tissue between Altana's enterprise product work and its government missions.

Requirements

  • Understand how customs and border authorities operate, with 8+ years at the intersection of trade, customs enforcement, or border security technology.
  • Experience with operational constraints, data limitations, and political realities within the trade/customs/border security domain.
  • Understand trade as a network system and identify risks in connections.
  • Experience translating high-level mandates into concrete product features.
  • Ability to write requirements for engineers and explain data architecture to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort designing for agencies across developed and emerging economies with varying legal regimes, data-sovereignty requirements, languages, and digital maturity.
  • Experience leading teams that build and ship functional products.
  • Understanding of technical plumbing (APIs, EDI, ETL/ELT, JSON) and a focus on user experience.
  • Eligibility for a U.S. security clearance is a plus, but not required.
  • For international engagements, relevant local eligibility and ability to work within security requirements is most important.
