About the Role
Academy for Young Minds (AYM) is seeking an experienced Assistant Teacher to provide instruction and implement individualized activities for students on the Autism Spectrum. This role involves supporting student learning through data collection and progress monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction to students.
- Implement individualized curricular activities for each student.
- Support student learning through data collection on programs and progress toward goals.
Requirements
- Experience in teaching special education students (preferably using ABA methodology).
- Understanding of the needs of students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and/or other developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of NYS Common Core Standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Computer proficiency (e.g., data base, word processing, etc.).
