About the Role
The Globalization team ensures Taskrabbit's experience is localized and culturally resonant across international markets. This role manages global localization projects and oversees the Italian locale, acting as a cultural bridge and adapting content. The specialist will also contribute to content development and own the evolution of linguistic assets.
Responsibilities
- Manage global localization workflows on Smartling across all markets and locales, with dedicated in-house oversight and review for Italian.
- Orchestrate work with dedicated translation agencies and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain reference materials for linguists to ensure consistent voice and best practices.
- Perform Quality Assurance checks to ensure communications, resources, and UX meet high standards and adhere to linguistic assets.
- Adapt and/or review content directly on the TMS (Smartling).
- Test and assess AI-driven workflows to scale operations and improve efficiency while maintaining localization quality.
- Carry out comprehensive localization audits, testing the full user journey to remove friction and enhance customer experience and performance metrics.
- Project manage cross-functional international initiatives, working with remote teams in different areas and time zones.
Requirements
- An Italian localization expert.
- A minimum of 5 years hands-on localization experience, with a strong background in translation, linguistics, transcreation, content creation, QA, and cultural adaptation.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Capable of carrying out all duties in a fast-paced environment as part of a hybrid international team.
- Solid understanding of CAT tools, including familiarity with MT and AI-driven workflows and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to move from reactive translation management to proactive global strategy, identifying and solving complex workflow and content challenges.
- An experienced project manager, capable of working cross-functionally, managing expectations, understanding priorities, and delivering on time.
- A seasoned specialist who understands the nature, needs and nuances of different content types: Marketing, Product and Engineering, Customer Support, Partnerships, etc.
- A forensic eye for detail and a strong curiosity about how things work.
- A clear, kind, and considerate professional who takes pride in a job well done.
- A team player—joining a small, cohesive team.
