About the Role
DS+CO is seeking a Media Buyer/Planner to translate client marketing objectives into strategic media plans across digital and traditional channels. This hands-on role involves campaign setup, buying, optimization, billing, reporting, and vendor coordination, reporting to the Associate Media Director. Local employees are required in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with potential for additional in-office time.
Responsibilities
- Develop media plans aligned with client objectives, audiences, and budgets, particularly for small to midsized campaigns.
- Build, traffic, and quality check campaigns across paid search, social, display, programmatic, online video, traditional media, and other channels.
- Monitor and optimize campaign performance, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Manage buying, billing, documentation, and financial reconciliation for assigned campaigns.
- Prepare performance reports translating results into clear insights and recommendations.
- Support client and new business efforts through research, forecasting, and strategic media recommendations.
- Coordinate with media vendors and negotiate placements and pricing to maximize client value.
- Recommend new channels, technologies, and optimization opportunities to internal teams.
- Utilize approved AI and platform tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and insight, applying sound judgment.
- Share knowledge and support the development of junior media team members.
Requirements
- At least one year of media planning or buying experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive meaningful insights from campaign data.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns, priorities, and deadlines amidst changing requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Comfort learning and operating within digital platforms, vendor systems, and collaboration tools.
- Curiosity about evolving media practices, technology, and appropriate AI applications.
