About the Role
Living Resources is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Payroll Specialist to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This role involves issuing paychecks, managing deductions, generating reports, and serving as a point of contact for employee payroll inquiries. The specialist will also process payroll for the self-direction group and collaborate with other departments for timely data submission.
Responsibilities
- Respond to employee questions and assist them in navigating their data in Paylocity.
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, and other deductions.
- Review HR Actions and process terminations.
- Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, and deductions.
- Ensure accurate data recording to correctly determine employer’s social security, unemployment, and workers’ compensation liability.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Ensure proper payroll operation by following policies and procedures; report needs for change.
- Maintain employee confidence and keep information confidential.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of one year of payroll or related experience.
Skills
- Experience with Paylocity
- Strong mathematical and data entry skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with payroll software
- Ability to work under pressure/a deadline
- Solid verbal communication skills
- Superb organizational skills
