About the Role
Popli Design Group (PDG) is seeking a Junior Engineer for the Bridge Inspection Division to assist in field inspections, conduct structural analyses, and contribute to data gathering and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist bridge inspection Team Leaders in performing field inspections.
- Conduct structural analyses of bridges to determine capacity.
- Enter data into bridge inspection software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Develop structural drawings using CADD.
- Compile reports and other documents.
- Document bridge conditions clearly and concisely with referenced photographs.
- Provide quality work with attention to detail.
- Utilize working knowledge of structural concepts for bridges and highway structures.
- Use common computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, and Access.
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is preferred.
Requirements
- A valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required.
- Must be physically able to perform field inspection work, including carrying/climbing ladders, wading in streams, working around traffic, and working at heights.
- Ability to travel to project sites.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in common computer applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Access).
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation preferred.
- Working knowledge of relevant structural concepts of bridges and other highway structures.
